My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

                                                         John: 15,12

We are on the shores of a new millenium and of a new year, likewise we are living in a period were the beautiful spiritual energies of the divine love of Christ are pearmeating our earth, so that we may be able to live and be reborn. We all need to be reborn to ever new love, freedom , joy and life through His help.

At present there is a great need of true friendship between all of us, we need relationships that touch our hearts and that help us to progress in every way. Sympathy that arises in our beings in the contact with others should and can develop with our right attitude and comprension to the nearness of divine unconditional love.

This energy and natural essence that comes into being by sharing love will help everyone to realize his true nature, so that each of us will be willing to go the way of service and self perfection with stronger and stronger will.

Beauty lies in giving and in expressing love through constructive acts, through material, emotional, intellectual or spiritual help wherever it is needed or asked for. Friendship brings the souls together and makes them see and manifest the clarity of light. Divine friendship unveils the true brilliance of our souls, the truth of the oneness of God in everything that exists and the unity of all souls in this universe. We have to bring this all longed heaven to earth through brotherhood.

For the greek philosophers love was described as Eros, that is, life energy seeking union with a gratifying object. When love becomes infused with consciousness and will, love is best defined as Agape, then the life energy is being  directed toward  the partner in an intentional act of healing. When we learn to see each other without distortion, to value each other as highly  as we value ourselves, to give without expecting anything in return, to commit ourselves fully to each other’s welfare, love moves freely between us. The word that describes this mature kind of love is not „eros“ ,not „agape“ but yet another Greek word „Philia“ , which means love between friends.

In every field of science we have developed wonderful achievements, but if we are not able to touch the hearts of our neighbours and give and accept love in an exchange which is the spiral of life, all our achievements do not have any value, but instead lead us only to destruction as we could see and observe with our regret if we watch the history of mankind.

Whatever we do unto others we also do it to ourselves, our spirits and our unconscious minds do not diferentiate between the „others“ and „us“, but both are perceived largely as the same, as our expanded selves.

We should expand our friendship to every creature and even to  our enemies, because in them also lies hidden the Beloved, even if this implies a long and painful process. By drinking the waters of creative wisdom, and by permanent contact with the Lord we may be able to put aflame the light of divine compassion in the heart of others, which nourishes and give us life every moment of our lives.

Excerpts from Letters to Students, p. 9, The Rosicrucian Cosmo-Conception p. 352, 360, 398-399 and Ancient and Modern Initiation p. 94 by Max Heindel:

In a religious movement it is customary to address one another as „sister“ and „brother“ in recognition of the fact that we are all children of God, who is our common Father. Brothers and sisters are not harmonious at all times, however. Sometimes they are even misguided enough to hate one another, but between friends there can be no feeling but love.

Christ came to prepare the way for the emancipation of humanity from the guidance of the differentiating Race and Family-spirit, and to unite the whole human family in one Universal Brotherhood.

The threefold spirit in man, the Ego, is the God within, whom the personal, bodily man must learn to follow. Therefore did Christ say that, to be his disciple, a man must forsake all that he had. His teaching points to the emanation of the God within. He calls upon man to excercise his prerogative as an individual and rise above family, tribe and nation. Not that he is to disregard kin and country. He must fulfill all duties, but he is to cease identifying himself with part and must recognize an equal kinship with all the world. That is the ideal given to mankind by the Christ.

The ideal of Universal Brotherhood, which identifies itself with neither country nor race, is the only path which leads to emancipation.

Christ came to reunite the separated races in bonds of peace and good will, wherein all will willingly and consciously follow the law of love.

Man is inherently a virgin Spirit, good, noble and true in every respect. All that is not good is from the lower nature , that illusory reflection of the Ego. The virgin Spirit is always giving wise counsel. If we could only follow the impulses of the heart-the first thought- Universal Brotherhood would be realized here and now. The mind and the desire body frustrate the designs of the spirit by taking control and, as they lack the spirit’s wisdom, both spirit and body suffer.

It is only by complete emancipation, through Love, that man can rise above the law and become a Law unto himself. Having conquered himself, he will have conquered all the World.

We know that a stove which is filled with burning fuel cannot help heating the surrounding atmosphere; neither can the Christian mystic help radiating the divine compassion which fills his heart to overflowing, nor is he in doubt whom to love or whom to serve or where to find his opportunity. As the stove filled with burning fuel radiates heat to all who are within its sphere of radiation, so the Christian mystic feels the love of God burning within his heart and is continually radiating it to all with whom he comes in contact. As the heated stove draws to itself by its genial warmth those who are suffering with physical cold, so the warm love rays of the Christian Mystic are as a magnet to all those whose hearts are chilled by the cruelty of the world, by man’s inhumanity to man.

The Parable of the Sower                    Luke: 8,4-15

While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: „A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up. Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.“

When he said this, he called out, „ He who has ears to hear, let him hear.“

His disciples asked him what this parable meant. He said: „The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, „though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.“

„This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it , but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life‘s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a nobel and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.“

Thoughts

The calmness and eagerness with which all of us permit, that something, because it was long wrong and reverse never should be put aright, is one of the ominous sources of misery and crime under which the world suffers.

                                                                                               Ruskin

Diligence is the mother of good fortune, and idleness, its opposite, never brought a man to the goal of any of his best wishes.

                                                                                            Miguel de Cervantes

Cry easily like a little child. Lets body- needs dwindle and soul-decisions increase. Diminish what you give your physical self. Your spiritual eye will begin to open.

Aquarian art

And you O my soul where you stand,

Surrounded, detached, in measureless oceans of space,

Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing, seeking the sphere to connect them.

Till the bridge you will need be formed, till the ductile anchor hold,

Till the gossamer thread you fling catch somewhere, O my soul.

                                                             Walt Whitman

Mary’s song:

“My soul glorifies the Lord

And my spirit rejoices in God my savior,

for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant.

From now on all generations will call me blessed,

for the Mighty One has done great things for me

holy is his name.

His mercy extends to those who fear him,

from generation to generation.

He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;

He has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

He has brought down rulers from their thrones

But has lifted up the humble.

He has filled the hungry with good things

But has sent the rich away empty.

He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful

to Abraham and his descendants for ever,

even as he said to our fathers. „
