„If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.“

                                                          Luke: 9,23

You may go for a walk and be astonished by the beauty of the trees and of nature. At night you may contemplate the stars and wonder about the infiniteness and glory of God. Beauty is life, when life inside of us blossoms. We are the veil and the life, so let us find the beauty within, than we may find also outwardly, in everebody, everywhere. It is said that the angels in their flight find out that there is only God.

Yet life is a drama in which we have to play our parts without being affected by its outward waves and movements. That means that we have to rest in the center of ourselves. But how can we do that? We have to put our whole attention in God and learn to value the spiritual path and the teachings above all our outward engagements.

True teachings are objective teachings and are verified and given by men who have attained a level of perfection and are above ordinary men in their actual development. In this sense these teachings should be accepted and respected and more importantly, they should be put into practice in our daily lives.

Everything passes away and it can be diluted like a cloud in the sky, but our true

being and the fruits of all our conscious actions and our deeds of love will remain forever.

So let us keep aflame the ableness of being active and positive and cultivate constantly the will to work for our self reformation, for the reformation of our environments and for the reformation of the world.

Excerpts from The Rosicrucian Cosmo-Conception p. 135, 151, 337, 341, 344, and Rosicrucian Philosophy in Questions and Answers Vol. 2, p. 98-99 and The Rosicrucian Christianity Lectures p. 14-15  by Max Heindel:

We are taught that in the beginning of manifestation God, the Great Spirit, differentiates within Himself (not from Himself) a number of Spirits which are as sparks from a flame, partakers of the divine nature, yet no one will contend that a spark is as good and as illuminative as the flame, though of the same substance. Before the differentiation these Spirits possesed and partook of the divine all-consciousness, omniscience, and other attributes. This divine faculties are latent in them, and the pilgrimage through matter, the evolutionary journey, is designed for the purpose of fanning these sparks into flames and unfolding the attributes which are in latency to potency, so that they may become dynamic powers, ready for us by each individual Spirit.

Each one, during the fanning process in the evolutionary field, gathers the aroma of ist individual experience, and at the end of evolution when, as Prodigal sons, we return to the bosom of the Father, each one of us will carry with him or her the aroma of his particular and individual experience upon the evolutionary journey. This composite essence, then, will be amalgamated with the great Divine Spirit of the Father; we shall then all be partakers of one another’s experience. Thus there will be a distinct gain to all concerned, for besides having evolved our own individuality we shall learn and partake of the knowledge and experience gathered by all the other Spirits in our life wave.

Everywhere in Nature is found this slow and persistent striving for perfection; and nowhere is found a sudden process of either creation or destruction analogous to the plan which the theologians and materialists would have us believe.

In order that we may live up to the opportunities of a three-dimensional universe, the path of evolution must be a spiral. So it is. Everywhere in heaven and on Earth all things are going onward, upward, forever.

Evolution is „the history of the progression of the Spirit in Time.“ Everywhere, as we see about us the varied phenomena in the universe, we realize that the path of evolution is a spiral. Each loop of the spiral is a cycle. Each cycle merges into the next, as the loops of the spiral are continuous, each cycle being the improved product of those preceding it and the creator of those more developed states which succeed it.

There is to great a tendency to think that all which now exists is the result of something that previously existed, but if that were the case there would be no margin left for new and original effort and for new causes. The chain of cause and effect is not a monotonous repetition. There is an influx of new and original causes all the time. That is the real backbone of evolution-the only thing that gives it meaning and makes it other than an unrolling of latent actualities. This is „Epigenesis“-the free-will that consists of the freedom to inaugurate something enterely new, not merely a choice between two courses of action.

Only that which remains plastic and pliable and adaptable for molding into new Forms suitable for the expression of the expanding consciousness; only the life which is capable of outgrowing the possibilities for improvement inhering in the forms it ensouls, can evolve with the pioneers of any life wave. All else must straggle on behind. In the progress of Evolution there is no halting place. In evolving Life, as in commerce, there is no such thing as merely „holding your own“. Progression or Retrogression is the Law. The Form that is not capable of further improvement must Degenerate.

Where Epigenesis is inactive in the individual, family, nation or Race-there evolution ceaces and degeneration commences.

An ancient story:

There is a history, that tells how God when he wanted to withdraw into the loneliness, but simulated not to know where, asked some wise advisers in order to prove their wisdom.

"Why do you not hide yourself in a mountain peak?“ said an adviser.

This doesn‘t make any sense said God, Men will one day climb the mountain and discover me“.

"How will it be with the depth of the sea?“ mentioned another wise man.

"With time man will learn to dive and they will find me“ answered God.

"Far away in the universe, how will be that?“ was the suggestion of a third.

"One day man will fly into the cosmos and then they will find me.“ answered God.

Finally a wise man had a perfect solution: „I know a place, in which no one will ever search“, he said.

"Where is that?“ all of them questioned.

"Simply hide yourself in the heart of man, in his soul. Nobody will think to look into there!“

God took this advice and is hidden there since that time.

Thoughts

It is better either to be silent, or to say things of more value than silence.

                                                                               Pythagoras

Democracy arises out of the notion that those who are equal in any respect are equal in all respects.

                                                                               Aristotle

All have it in their power to know the motives of their own actions.

Aquarian art

In much of your talking, thinking is half murdered.

For thought is a bird of space,

that in a cage of words may indeed unfold its wings but cannot fly.

There are those among you who seek the talkative through fear of being alone.

The silence of aloneness reveals to their eyes their naked selves

and they would escape.

And there are those who talk, and without knowledge or afore-thought

reveal a truth which they themselves do not understand.

And there are those who have the truth within them, but they tell it not in words.

In the bosom of such as these the spirit dwells in rhytmic silence.

When you meet your friend on the roadside or in the market place,

let the spirit in you move your lips and direct your tongue.

Let the voice within your voice speak to the ear of his ear;

for his soul will keep the truth of your heart as the taste of the wine is remembered,

when the color is forgotten and the vessel is no more.
